 Sanderling Design 2022 Books Read

Happy New Year’s Eve! I hope everyone has fun plans to ring in 2023!

At the beginning of 2022 I set a lofty goal of reading 50 books. It has been a long time since I read that many, but I had so many unread books in my home that I wanted to get a bunch of them properly on my shelf, all happy and read.

I am slightly sad to say I did not even come close to reading 50 books. I say slightly, because so much of this year was spent doing wedding things, and I wouldn’t trade a minute of that for anything in the world!

Presented in the order I read them, without any further ado let’s roundup my reads from 2022!

1. Along the Infinite Sea by Beatriz Williams

5/5 stars- I only just found out that this book is part of a series! SMH… It doesn’t seem to be an issue that I read it out of order though. Looking forward to reading the other two in 2023!

2. I’ll See You in Paris by Michelle Gable

4/5 stars- This one extended my list of books referencing so many! I always enjoy avid readers in books.

3. The Lost Girls of Paris by Pam Jenoff

4/5 stars- Gripping! I couldn’t read fast enough to find out the truth!

4. The Last Train to Key West by Chanel Cleeton

5/5 stars- Chanel Cleeton became an instant favorite of mine in 2020. I don’t know what took me so long to pick up another one of hers!

5. When We Left Cuba by Chanel Cleeton

5/5 stars- It was wonderful to continue the story of the Perez sisters after they left Cuba. Beatriz would have an adventurous story like this one.

6. Lady Clementine by Marie Benedict

4/5 stars- Based off of the real life and events of Clementine Churchill, Winston’s wife. There are several other books that follow the wives of famous men, and I look forward to reading them as well.

7. The Railwayman’s Wife by Ashley Hay

4/5 stars- Heavy, heavy story for me, but very good. It’s the first book I’ve read concerning Australia during war time, and I’d like to read more.

8. The Light Between Ocean’s by M.L. Stedman

5/5 stars- This one surprisingly had some terrible reviews. I thoroughly enjoyed it though, and couldn’t get enough of it. Another one that kept me reading!

9. Legacy of Silence by Belva Plain

5/5 stars- This one surprised me! It ended being one of the better stories I’ve read in a long time. I’m glad I finally “got it over with,” was worth every minute!

10. A Wedding in December by Anita Shreve

2.5/5 stars- Was not a fan, and really wouldn’t recommend. It was really very depressing in all honesty.

11. The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway

3/5 stars- Short and easy read. Glad I got to squeeze one more in before the end of the year!

Most of these were books I inherited from my grandmother last year. I would dare say that the two of us definitely have similar taste in reading material. Still many more to read from her!

Like I said, a little sad I didn’t read more this year. I’m looking forward to next year though, and am hopeful about all the books I can still look forward to enjoying!

Let me know if you hit your reading goals this year, or tell me what your goal is for next year!

Thank You for Reading!
